On behalf of the pupils, staff and administrators of the school, I would like to welcome you and recommend that you read through this prospectus thoroughly as it provides the atmosphere at Oskez Global Academy. It is very hard to put these tenets into words; however, I can say that the staff and administrators are deeply committed to a caring approach to the children and their learning and we recognize that we are all part of a wider community. Because it is important to maximize each child’s potential, we work in cooperation with one another. As a result, parental involvement is positively and deeply encouraged here.
Oskez Global Academy is like no other school, offering a unique structural design and unique educational experience that prepares students for university and for life. Its instructional model is designed to meet the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) global concept.
Our students are surrounded every day by devoted, insightful teachers and a rich variety of amazing opportunities to learn and grow in a nurturing community that is a microcosm of the universe.
As President of Oskez Global Academy, I appreciate the tremendous amount of goodwill and co-operation of pupils, parents/guardians, staff and administrators. I have no hesitation in recommending Oskez Global Academy to parents of any prospective pupil. Oskez Global Academy shall be at the forefront of primary/secondary education in Delta State as well as a shining example of God’s gift and love in the community.
At Oskez Global Academy, we are redefining possible, by creating life-changing opportunities for students from our communities. We offer our kids a high-quality, university preparatory education that concocts them to compete in the global marketplace and reflect to their communities. We educate the whole child through enrichment prospects and extracurricular activities; teaching more than just the textbook. Whether inside or outside the classroom, we thrust each other to be famous and achieve 100% daily.
Oskez Global Academy opened in September 19, 2016 as a two - form entry institution: Primary and Secondary schools. Oskez Global Academy hopes to enjoy a thriving school population and vision for a developed community.
Oskez Global Academy is a school for boys and girls. The school also operates a nursery, daycare and after-school programs to accommodate working parents and those parents that work late. However, all school activities must end by 6:00pm, except Tuesdays and Thursdays when the students come back to campus for soccer practice. At the present time, we have 6 classes for the elementary grades and 7 classes for the secondary levels.
Through the art of Oskez Global Academy, we hope to accomplish the following:
● All students will master the basic skills at a rate equal to significantly more than one year’s worth of growth for each year they are at Oskez Global Academy. We will measure acquisition of basic skills with our own assessments and also standardized test scores.
●All students will have time set aside each day to work on improving higher order thinking skills, such as creativity, critical thinking and leadership skills that cannot be measured easily on standardized tests.
●All students will develop strong ethical and moral character which mould their nature; and from Oskez, go on to make the world a better place for human habitation.
●All students will experience school as a positive environment that challenges and motivates them, as well as a place where they can feel successful, valued and cared for.

Admission to the school is the responsibility of the administrative body. The admissions criteria are on our Admissions page or available on request from the school’s office. Students are administered an entry examination based on the grade level of entry.
The home, school and communities collaborate for the education and wellbeing of the pupils at Oskez Global Academy.
Oskez Global Academy operates and follows the schedule below on daily basis except otherwise. If there is any change, parents/guardians will be notified.
7.20 am - 7:45 a.m - Teachers’ prayers.
7:45 am - 8:00a.m – Assembly.
8:10 a.m. – Classes start.
11:30 a.m. -12:00 pm - Primary grades break.
11:30 am-12:00 pm - Secondary grades break.
1:30pm - Primary grades close.
2:00pm- Secondary grades close.
2:00 pm – 4:00 pm- Tutorial.s
4.00 pm – 5:00 p.m.- After school clubs (Tuesdays &Thursdays).
It is very important for your child to be at school on time every day. If a child is late, the child misses the welcome, the beginning of assembly or the daily outline of learning intentions as well as interrupting the session in progress. The beginning of the day is a busy time for everyone; it is important for the school day to start on time so that the children get their maximum entitlement of instructional time. If you need to speak to the class teacher, please, either pass a written note via your child or leave a message with the office, who will pass on your message on as soon as possible to the class teacher. Teachers are available to speak with parents at 2:00p.m on most days or you can arrange a mutually convenient appointment time with the class teacher. School ends at 2:00p.m for all students. Please be on time to pick your child at the end of the day. If you are delaying, please telephone and advise us. Any child not picked up one hour after the close of classes will be charged for care keeping. Please ensure that you tell the school well in advance if someone else other than yourself is to pick your child from school. Please give us your child’s means of transportation.
Oskez Global Academy anticipates high attendance level. We believe that children must attend school unless they are sick or there are special circumstances that have been cleared with the administration. Research shows that children have better life opportunities if they attend school regularly. At Oskez Global Academy, we reward excellent attendance and punctuality with certificates every semester. If attendance is below 80%, it is categorized as persistent absence. We ask parents/guardians to notify us of any medical absence before 9a.m. on the first day of absence and continue to update us until the pupil returns to school.
A wide range of extra-curricular activities, such as football, music, debate, art, film club, drama, dance, and French are available after school. The list of activities is made available at the beginning of each term. The clubs enable children to learn and develop new skills in a fun loving environment.
Our school staffs play essential roles in ensuring that Oskez Global Academy is a conducive, healthy, loving and effective place for children to learn. It is our vision to work closely and collaborate with international agencies to support the development of the students.
We believe that parents and guardians are the first educators of their children; therefore, we encourage a close partnership between parents and school from the outset. At the beginning of the school year and before any child starts at Oskez Global Academy, parents/guardians hold an induction meeting and are given the prospectus to familiarize themselves with the school operations.
Parents and guardians will receive regular newsletter from the program coordinator, advising them of all school activities and curriculum developments. There are also regular letters from the class teacher regarding activities and other school events. Open house and days are held for parents and guardians of all children to explain curriculum issues and discuss pupil progress. Teachers and families may arrange informal discussions. This is actively encouraged and helps the school respond in a caring and positive way to each child’s needs.
Our parents/guardians are members of the PTA. There is a standing committee responsible for organizing events, such as fundraising activities, social events and support the school in welcoming new families as well as providing refreshments at some points during the academic year.
The School Council meets regularly and takes into considerations the views and opinions of their classmates that affects real influence on the life of the school. Students are elected into the council by their peers. Each grade level has a representation on the council. The council is headed by a final year student, who is considered to be a senior.
The curriculum at Oskez Global Academy is designed to meet every child’s ability to learn and develop a love for learning and the curriculum is developed across curricular links so that children, in addition to learning the essential basic skills, also learn about the scientific, artistic and creative worlds that promote an understanding, respect and celebration of difference ability, gender, ethnicity and culture.
The preschool age is a single framework based on quality to support children’s learning and development from birth. Instruction at this level is based on early childhood education framework. As such, we follow the Reception Class curriculum. Children are offered a play-based approach to learning and development. The activities that are provided for our pupils support the skills they need, to work towards the Early Learning Goals.
The Early Childhood grade focuses on four themes.

• Progressive Relationships
• Enabling Environments
• Learning and Development
Each child learns new skills, acquires current knowledge and demonstrates understanding through several areas of Learning and Development. The major areas are Communication and Language, Physical Development and Personal Social and Emotional Development. As the children develop, the key areas help them to increase their skills in four key areas. These are Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.
The Early Child Education years encourage staff, parents and guardians to work together to help children develop to their full potential
The school curriculum focuses to promote pupils’ moral and cultural development, as well as strengthen their spiritual understanding and prepare all pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life. It provides every pupil with opportunities to learn and to achieve. These two objectives reinforce each other. The personal development of pupils plays a substantial part in their ability to learn and to achieve. Development in both areas is essential in enabling all child to achieve their full potential.
At Oskez Global Academy, there is a primary belief in education, both at home and school, as an itinerary to the spiritual, moral, social, cultural, physical and mental development, and thus the wellbeing, of the individual. Education is also as a route to equality of prosperity for all. It should reflect the enduring values that contribute to the following ends. These include cherishing ourselves, our families and other relationships, the expanded groups to which we belong, the differences in our society and the environment in which we live. Education within Academy also confirms our commitment to the ethical values, encompassing truth, honesty, justice, respect, trust and service towards others.
At the same time, education must enable us to respond positively to the opportunities and challenges of the rapidly changing world in which we live and labor.
The National and State Curricular apply to pupils of compulsory school age. At Oskez Global Academy, the curriculum is organized on the basis of grade levels. Instruction at the Academy is driven by requirements of the state ministry of education guidelines and the requirements of all the major national examination bodies.
Individual instrumental tuition will be made available during the school day. It is delivered by well qualified none permanent teachers who will visit the school as needed. Lessons are weekly for 30 minutes. The school may be able to lease musical instruments in certain circumstances. Should you need further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

For each subject and for every key stage, programmes of study set out what pupils should be taught, and attainment targets stipulates the expected standards of pupils’ performance.
Children are pre-assessed during their time in the Reception Class. They are assessed against the seven areas of Learning and Development through the completion of the Foundation Stage Profile.
Educational trips that support the curriculum take place each year. These visits support the scope and interest to subjects as the curriculum mandates. The school regularly invites visitors to the school to augment the curriculum, including visits from local providers to deliver games, dance and drama lessons.
There is a prescribed standard and requirements for children taking part on field trips/ escortions. Parents or guardians will be notified in advance outlining the nature of the escortion and the cost. The payment for any outing during the school day is on a voluntary basis. However, if insufficient money is collected or few students are interested, the trip will be cancelled.

Oskez Global Academy is committed to become an inclusive school, provide an inclusive curriculum to ensure the best possible progress for all of our students, regardless their needs or abilities.
All children are entitled to follow a broad and balanced curriculum. Some children need extra help because of learning difficulties, physical disabilities, or emotional/ behavioural needs. Some children have particular gifts or talents that make them learn faster. We believe that every child can learn; only at different levels and rate. Parents and guardians are regularly consulted and kept informed of their child’s academic and behavioral progression.
The school takes great care to ensure that all children learn in a happy, safe environment. Every child would be provided with a photo identification card. The identification must be presented at all after school events. The program coordinator is the Chief Child Protection Officer and all staff regularly receive child protection training.
Children at Oskez Global Academy have homework every day. They are expected to take responsibility for completing it on time. Homework is part of the grade categories. The amount of homework that is set depends on the age of the children, with a gradual increase in order to prepare them for the rigors of secondary school and university. Parents/guardians receive guidance from the class teacher at the beginning of each academic year.
We ask for your support by ensuring that homework is completed on time to a high standard.
At Oskez Global Academy, the Divine teachings form the essence of our aims and philosophy.
These Divine values are therefore reflected in the way we behave and treat each other. We are committed to showing respect and consideration towards all adults, children and property. Kindness, good manners and a caring attitude are all central to this goal. We have high expectations of the behaviour of all who form part of the school community. Through our example, we can provide a safe, calm and secure learning environment for all in our school.
All parents and guardians are required to sign the Home School Agreement that summaries our commitment to your children and the expectations that we have of the behaviour of children and visitors to the school.
Positive reinforcement and rewards are used widely within school. There is a detailed behaviour Policy that outlines the process when there is a behavioural issue. Parents are informed of any concerns, as it is paramount that we work together to address them.
Bullying is not tolerated at Oskez Global Academy. All children are made aware of what may constitute bullying, and are very mature in reporting incidents to staff. Staffs are trained to deal with this important issue. Similarly, harassment, which is any hostile or offensive action against individuals or groups because of their ethnic origin, religious or cultural heritage is not acceptable. We take proud of the diversity within our school community and as a result, we take any concerns very seriously. Any reported incidents will be investigated in accordance with the school policy.
We ask that any issues relating to any child are referred to the class teacher, or the principal. It is expected that issues are dealt with in school rather than between parents.
PLEASE NOTE: OSKEZ GLOBAL ACADEMY IS A TOTAL “NO SMOKING” ENVIRONMENT AT ALL TIMES.
There is a tremendous amount of love at Oskez Global Academy. We expect everybody to take care of school property.
STUDENTS ARE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO SCHOOL PROPERTY.
Should a student damage the school property, the student will replace the property or pay the monetary value equivalent to the property. Failure or refusal to do so would prohibit the student from receiving his or her report cards.
We are very proud of our school. We should also be proud of how we look; therefore, all children are expected to be in full uniform every day.

Jewelry of any sort other than a wrist watch is forbidden during sporting activities.
Boys’ hair should be neatly cut. (designer cuts or styles e.g. zig zags, mohican are not permitted). These cause distractions in class and in the entire school. Girls with long hair should tie it to the back.
Currently, Oskez Global Academy does not provide lunch. However, students are encouraged to bring their own lunch and snack for consumption during break time
At Oskez Global Academy, we have some extracurricular activities and students are encouraged to sign up. These include:
• Debate club
• Soccer team
• School band
• French Club
• Writers’ Club
The above activities take place after classes from 5-6pm.
It is important that the school is kept informed of all medical needs of their child. When children require regular access to medicine e.g. asthma inhalers, we ask that parents/guardians notify the school, so that we can ensure that best practice is followed for individual child. All necessary medicines must be provided by parents/guardians and replenished promptly when required. Minor bumps and bruises are treated in school and we have several trained First Aiders.
Currently, the School does not have a nurse. We hope to provide such services to our students in the near future.
If a child becomes ill or injured during the school hours, the parents/guardians will be notified immediately and provided with details. Parents/guardians will be expected to make arrangements for the child to be collected as soon as possible.
The school must have up to date telephone numbers and other relevant information in case of emergency.
If you must bring your car to school, we ask that you help us to take care of our children by not parking inside the school compound.
